MY THOUGHTS:
The Struggle is aptly named - I had to struggle to read it. This is the second book I have read by this author and I have to say that I have been disappointed with both of them. I have seen so many great reviews for her books that I'm surprised by how much I haven't enjoyed them.
The worst part of this book was the repetition. One example of this is how Hannah hated that her husband made her move to Kentucky. I don't have to read it, in detail, over and over and over...I got it the first time! It was said so many times that I was annoyed anytime it was brought up. And this is just one of the things that was consistently repeated.
This is the third book in a series and I think the author definitely filled you in on all the details from the first two - I am presuming this, as I haven't read those, there is just so many details about things that happened earlier that I am sure they were the main points in those stories. So, I think if you were to read this book before those, you may not want to read them since it seems like you will know everything that happened.
If you are a huge fan of Amish fiction, who knows, maybe you'd enjoy this book. I am not that big a fan of Amish fiction and don't read all that many of them as I'm hardly ever thrilled with them. This one has been the worst one I have read. I gave it a half star because I think some parts, very few, were good.
***I received a complimentary copy of this book to review. I was asked to give my honest opinion of the book - which I have done.***
