MY THOUGHTS:
I don't read very many novels that are about people from the Bible - usually I find them disappointing, but something about this book made me want to read it and I am sure glad I did!

As a person who was raised in a Christian household, I have known the story of Sarai/Sarah my whole life. Yet, after reading this book I feel as though I have heard the story for the first time - it was so real, so vivid, so fresh that it seemed like a whole new story. I now feel like I know so much more about Sarai/Sarah than I did before.

A couple of times while reading this book, I thought "I don't remember this!" and "oh no, this is not right!" only to check in the Bible and find that it was correct - it was just something I didn't ever remember reading! With a story that is told SO much, I was surprised by how much I learned.

While reading this book, I became immersed in the story and I was so hoping that things would be different - even though I knew what the outcome would be. I don't think I will ever think of these people the same way again.

I very much enjoyed reading Sarai and am eagerly awaiting the next book in the Wives of the Patriarch's series. I now want to read all three books in Jill's first series, The Wives of King David (Michal, Abigail, & Bathsheba) very soon.
